I’ve been sitting and standing over tables all of my life. Tables in the county jail, tables in prisons, tables in churches, school tables, dinner tables, Christmas tables, tables of mourning, and so on. We will all gather around a table for one reason or another. Some relate a table to eating and gathering. I would agree. Tables represent a place where souls meet for a purpose, eating food could be a starting point. Right? Wrong? What if God was preparing a table for you to sit at, a table you had no idea was being prepared for you. Imagine for a second the God of the universe sitting at your table, that he prepared.
I’m sitting at my table, coffee to the right, Bible to the left. God are you at this table? Are you in the midst of my sitting and standing? Psalm 23:5 says “YOU PREPARE” a table for me. God prepares a table(s) for me to sit at. First with him and then with others. Every table I sit at this year will have purpose, meaning, life, love, laughter, joy, and light.
I don’t know what table your sitting at today or this week but I encourage you to allow God to prepare it for you. Even if it’s the breakfast table, business table, medical table, sports table, the crafts table, or the Super bowl table. My heart feels that God is up to something big and it includes some mighty moments at tables he’s preparing for us. Open up the year to the revelation that Gods table is where we want to be, strategically placing us in situations that are going to elevate his kingdom and bring hope to a broken world. I can’t wait to sit at your table with God at the head seat.
